UNCW Advances to Roman CBI Championship Game

DAYTONA BEACH – UNCW led from start to finish in advancing to the Roman CBI Championship Game with an 80-64 win over Northern Colorado at the Ocean Center.

Five Seahawks scored in double figures led by Jaylen Sims had 15 points. Jamahn Harvey tallied 15 points, Shykeim Phillips tallied 13 points to go with six rebounds and four assists, James Baker scored 11 points, and Jamani Thomas ended the night with 10 points.

For the game, UNCW shot 53.6 (30-of-56) percent from the field and 41.7 percent from three (6-of-12), while limiting the Bears to just 39.7 (23-of-58) from the field, including just 8-of-31 in the first half which saw the Seahawks ahead 36-23.

Matt Johnson scored 16 points to lead Northern Colorado.

The Seahawks will play the winner of the Middle Tennessee-Abilene Christian game.
