Game 1

Arkansas State held off a Bethune-Cookman second half comeback to win the first game of the 2024 Ro CBI 86-85. Freddie Hicks led the Red Wolves with 21 points and 9 rebounds. Derrian Ford added 12 points and scored the go-ahead basket with under a minute remaining. Arkansas State will face the winner of Montana/Presbyterian in the quarterfinals on Monday.

Game 2

#15 Chicago State             77

Chicago State completed the first upset of the 2024 Ro CBI with a 77-75 win over UC San Diego. Wesley Cardet Jr. and Jahsean Corbett scored 52 of Chicago State’s 77 points. The Cougars became the first #15 seed to win a game in the CBI’s current format. Chicago State will face the winner of Fairfield/Little Rock on Monday in the quarterfinals.

Game 3

#14 Delaware State           66

Seattle pulled away from Delaware State to win the final game of day 1, 79-66. Cameron Tyson scored 19 points and made 5 three’s. John Christofilis finished with 16 points to help lead the strong second half for the Redhawks. Seattle will face the winner of Quinnipiac/Evansville on Monday in the quarterfinals.
