Game 5 – Sunday, March 19 (11:00am)
No. 8 Eastern Kentucky 91
No. 9 Cleveland State 75 OT
Eastern Kentucky rallied from down nine with 6:24 left to force overtime in the opening game on Sunday. The Colonels outscored Cleveland State 17-1 in overtime to advance to the Quarterfinals tomorrow where they will meet #1 Indiana State at 12:00. Devontae Blanton led EKU with a game high 22 points shooting 10-15 from the field. Isaiah Cozart was the key for A.W. Hamilton’s team down the stretch scoring a career high 20 points, tallying a career high 17 rebounds and recording 5 crucial blocks.
Game 6 – Sunday, March 19 (1:00pm)
No. 5 Duquesne 78
No. 12 Rice 84
Quincy Olivari’s 19 points, which all came in the second half proved to be the difference for Rice as the Owls knocked of fifth seeded Duquesne. Travis Evee scored 17 for Rice and Max Fiedler contributed with 16 for Scott Pera’s team. Dae Dae Grant had a game high 28 points in the loss for Duquesne. Rice appearing in their 2nd straight CBI will advance to the Quarterfinals tomorrow vs #4 Southern Utah at 2:00.
Game 7 – Sunday, March 19 (3:30pm)
No. 7 Tarleton 70
No. 10 Radford 72 OT
Radford rallied from down 12 early in the second half and the Highlanders narrowly edge out Tarleton in Overtime. DaQuan Smith led the way with 20 points, Shaquan Jules had 16 points and Bryan Antoine scored 13 in the win for the Highlanders. Freddy Hicks had a game high 30 points for Tarleton. Radford advances to the Quarterfinals tomorrow vs #2 San Jose State at 4:30.
Game 8 – Sunday, March 19 (5:30pm)
No. 6 Stetson 83
No. 11 Milwaukee 87 OT
A BJ Freeman floater with 14 seconds remaining tied the game up at 76 and would be the third overtime game of the day at the Ocean Center. Freeman exploded for a career high and a new CBI record 43 points. Jalen Blackmon had 22 points and Stephan Swenson scored 20 in the loss for the Hatters. #11 Milwaukee advances to the Quarterfinals tomorrow vs #3 Charlotte at 6:30.
